Ride Along is a movie starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart who attract similar audiences. Ride along would be interpreted as a hybrid-genre: comedy/action. This is considered because of the mise-en-scene of the cover image. The boyfriend is looking up to the male beside him which shows power. The top police officer is wearing a leather jacket whereas the boyfriend is simply in a hoody which reinforces the roles of the two and who is mostly respected. The storyline also contributes to the interpretation of the movie being a hybrid-genre to the audience (male 60% and female 40%). The storyline of this movie is that an average security guard wants to get married to his girlfriend, however the girlfriend's brother (who is a top policeman) doesn't approve. So the security guard must prove him self as reliable and takes on a 24 hour patrol alongside the top cop.
